I'm very disappointed by the Department of Health’s decision to ban natural gas hydro-fracking since over 30 other States have ruled that the process can be safely regulated.
It's most unfortunate for our farmers, landowners, retailers, hospitality and construction workers looking for hope, growth and opportunity.
I’m also stunned at the Gaming Facility Location Board’s decision to deny a casino to the true Southern Tier in Johnson City or Nichols.
The chosen Tyre site is closer to Canada than it is to Binghamton.
Following these two setbacks, I hope the Governor has some kind of backup plan beyond the recent REDC awards to generate sustained growth and opportunity in the Southern Tier.
And I'll keep doing my part as the Deputy Leader to make sure that at least the Senate treats us fairly.
